ECS 3320 - Application and Curriculum for Children with Disabilities (3) Application of anti-racist and critical disability lens to develop an intersectional approach to the development and implementation of appropriate classroom practices involving procedures, strategies, methods, curriculum, and materials for teaching learners with and without disabilities in an inclusive classroom for children aged 0-8. Focused on the role of the general education teacher in upholding the civil and educational rights of the child and family in an inclusive environment, this class will examine the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiation strategies. The intersection of how family identity (race, culture, language, etc.) influences and defines the UDL approach and how to deconstruct bias in an inclusive environment will be discussed.
Prerequisite(s): C or better in ECS 1000 , ECS 1100 , ECS 2200 , ECS 2350 , and ECS 3310 . Grading Basis: Graded Only Repeat for Credit: May be taken only once When Offered: Fall, Spring Course Category: Major Elective Course
